The Drain Collective project aims to address the key business challenges faced by the brand. The absence of a centralized platform creates barriers for new listeners to engage with their work and discover the diverse talents within the collective. My goal is to create a visually immersive website that caters to a young adult audience, introducing the collective and their brand.

Drain Gang is a Swedish artistic collective formed in 2013 in Stockholm. Their experimental approach across multiple artistic mediums captured audiences, resulting in a rise in noteriety and devotion.

Design Strategy

The target audience is young adults who are interested in contemporary music and art. Laying out the visual identity of the brand helped me create cohesive design elements. Also prioritized straightforward navigation and responsiveness to ensure an intuitive experience.

Process

I started by sketching rough layouts, then transferred them to Adobe XD to create wireframes. This approach ensured consistency in design throughout the page. Using grids and offsetting the text aligned with the brand's values of pushing boundaries and established a clear hierarchy within the layout.

One of the main challenges I encountered was ensuring that the website effectively captured the essence of the Drain Collective while also maintaining a cohesive and visually appealing design that resonated with the audience.

Final Design

The final website creates a space that embodies the essense of the collective. With vibrant colors, imagery and dynamic typography, it engages the user and allows them to interact with their content. It also includes smooth transitions and interactive features for a seamless browsing experience.
